Now this is what I picture when I think of Chirstmas. Pine bows, flannel blankets, or pj's or jackets, cozy fire in the fireplace, snow outside, a good book on my lap, kids building snowment, drinking hot chocolate, readying Christmas stories by the lights on the tree. This is a wreath that I would love to have hanging over my dream fireplace in my dream cabin.
This traditional chirstmas wreath starts with a moss green burlap as the base. As I stumbled upon these bells I knew exactly how this wreath should look,. I added berries to the entire wreath, a plaid bow as accents and then the bells, which are set to display the snow flower design they have on them. But even with all those beautiful accents something was missing. I place pinecones that I had collected in the spring and still it wasn't quite right. It took me a while to realized that with the green brlap (which reminds me of the pine bows of a christmas tree) I needed the snow accents on the pinecones.
Why is it that we associate pine cones with Christmas? It's not like the pine cones are in the treees at that time of year, and It's not like they have fallen to the ground recently, they do that in the spring. Anyway I always associate pinecones with christmas, and so do many others around so I guess this wreath was the perfect place to some spring pinecones.
